It is held in place with a 2-part elastic strap that is held in place with velcro. A thick, bendable tab that is covered in black leather can be bent behind the head to help keep the mask affixed. It has a 2-part padded liner and neck guard. The permanent layer of the padding is riveted to the mask and the removable part that covers it is held in place with velcro strips. The foam interior padding is coated with a layer of stitched red synthetic fabric. Much of the liner can be removed for cleaning from its wide velcro strips. The mask bib is rated at 350 Newtons.
